Audit & Assurance
More than a tick-box — audits that strengthen your organisation.
Fulfilling statutory requirements is an essential part of running an organisation. But an audit shouldn’t just be ticking items off a checklist — done well, it’s a proactive opportunity to improve your systems, controls and performance.
Experience where it counts
Our audit and advisory professionals include Big Four-trained specialists with more than a decade of experience across the private sector, public sector agencies in the Northern Territory, and international engagements. That depth means we’ve seen what good looks like at every scale — and we bring it to organisations of every size.
The complete package
We deliver an audit and assurance program that works with your accounting systems and meets the needs of your organisation, your industry and your obligations: internal and external audits, compliance audits, trust account audits, risk evaluation, process improvement, financial statement preparation, due diligence and government grant acquittals.
Independence with local understanding
We’re big enough to bring rigour and independence, and local enough to understand NT organisations — community associations, Indigenous corporations, clubs and growing businesses. You get a straight answer, a clear report and practical recommendations your board can act on.
Frequently asked questions
Who needs an audit?
Common triggers include incorporated associations and not-for-profits over certain revenue thresholds, entities with trust accounts (such as real estate agents and lawyers), grant recipients whose funding agreements require acquittal audits, and companies whose constitutions or stakeholders require audited accounts. If you're not sure whether you need one, ask us — the answer is sometimes 'no', and we'll tell you.
Our NT association receives government grants — can you handle the acquittals?
Yes. Grant acquittal audits are a specialty, particularly for NT community organisations. We know what funding bodies expect and we'll keep the process painless for your committee and bookkeeper.
What's the difference between audit and assurance?
An audit provides the highest level of formal opinion over financial statements. Assurance engagements — like reviews and agreed-upon procedures — offer lighter-touch comfort at lower cost, and are often all a smaller organisation actually needs. We'll match the engagement to your obligations.
How disruptive will an audit be?
Far less than you'd expect. We plan around your calendar, request documents once through a clear list, and work remotely from your cloud accounting file where possible. Most clients tell us the process also left their systems better documented than before.
