SAMAF GROUP PTY LTD (ABN 76 641 389 399), trading as SAMAF Consultants ("we", "us"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and store personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and our obligations of confidentiality as registered tax agents under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009.
What we collect
- Contact details — name, address, phone, email
- Identity details — date of birth, tax file number (handled under strict TFN rules), visa and residency information where relevant
- Financial information — income, expenses, superannuation, banking details and records needed to provide our services
- Website enquiries — information you submit through our contact and booking forms
How we use it
We collect personal information to provide accounting, taxation, bookkeeping, audit and advisory services; to communicate with you; to meet our legal obligations (including to the Australian Taxation Office and the Tax Practitioners Board); and to improve our services. We do not sell personal information.
Disclosure
We may disclose information to the ATO and other government bodies as required or authorised by law, to service providers who assist us in operating our practice (including secure cloud accounting platforms such as Xero and MYOB, and our outsourced services partner), and to others with your consent. Where information is processed overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs.
Storage and security
We store information in secure, access-controlled systems and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access. Tax file numbers are collected, used and stored only as permitted under the Privacy (Tax File Number) Rule 2015.
Website analytics and cookies
Our website uses privacy-conscious analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Our contact forms use spam protection services. We don't use advertising trackers.
Access and correction
You can request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us at info@samaf.com.au or 0459 789 085. If you have a privacy concern, contact us first — if you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
